Art + Work Exhibition discussed at Artbar, Autumn 2015

Three artists –Lucinda Burgess, Carole Pearson and Fiona Haines – placed new work into the displays at the Museum of Bath at Work, making much of the dramatic Georgian architecture and creating links and references to the museum’s permanent displays of Bath’s former industries.
Using materials that are part of the museum collection, Lucinda’s work focused on the constantly changing nature of those materials and the work that it takes to hold them still. The idea of permanence, so enshrined by museums where things are held in aspic, was challenged by artworks that were clearly changing as the days went by.
